A couple of days back, I came across an app in the play store on my Nexus 7 called Bluelight Filter which helps you to add a Bluelight filter to your display that results in less eye strains while reading or browsing the web on your tablet/smartphone. So is this app actually useful for your eyes? Let's find out in this latest edition of Phonesoldier talks!
Let's first take a closer at the functions this app provides!
1. This app adjusts your screen color to reduce the blue light and reduce your eye strain and troubles to sleep.
2. This app's filter has natural color that means no artificial lights that cause damage to your eyes.
3. You can adjust the opacity of the filter using the setting app.
4. You can choose to show or hide the filter in the status bar and go into settings directly from there!
5. You can choose one from 5 filter colors including red, brown and much more.
6. Battery life is long because this app doesn't handle it except when you set up the filter. The app adjusts the color temperature only, so this needs little memory.
So now enough with the features, now let's move to the review!
I've been using this app for almost a week now and I am using it while reading, browsing the web, tweeting and much more. I also switched back to normal to see the difference on eyes and I was really surprised by the result.
This app actually reduces the strain and with this app, you could use your tablet/smartphone for a longer period of time as your eyes no longer hurt and you won't have any trouble in sleeping after using your device.
If we talk about the amount of battery it uses, it is NIL! This app almost uses your 0% battery, i saw no difference in my battery life at all.
So, grab this 500KB sized app for free from the play store here!
